About BigRoll Shipping
Based in the Netherlands, BigRoll Shipping is a young and innovative company. In 2013 BigLift Shipping and RollDock Shipping agreed to combine their individual strengths to form a new company to design, build and operate an innovative fleet of state-of-the-art (DP2 prepared) Module Carriers. Within BigRoll, the commercial, technical and operational knowledge, originating from both parent companies, created a high quality Module Carrier shipowner and operator from the beginning.

BigRoll will offer the industry a combination of a modern module carrier fleet, an experienced commercial team and in-house engineering and operational know-how. This combination enables BigRoll to find innovative solutions to complex transportation challenges.

BigRoll provides transportation services for the heaviest modularized cargo for onshore and offshore projects. The combination of the MC Class capabilities and BigRoll’s in-house knowledge and experience provide a safe, reliable, efficient solution - even in the most remote areas.

The MC Class is BigRoll’s newly designed Module Carrier vessel. It has been designed with particular focus on a high ballasting capacity, low fuel consumption, high service speed and excellent seakeeping behavior - which in turn provides lower acceleration forces on the cargo. The innovative hull design coupled with the propulsion configuration ensures a safe, reliable and fast transit time.

MC Class vessels are specifically designed to deliver modules and equipment for large projects and are highly suited to travel to remote areas such as the Arctic as well as directly offshore. They have Finnish Swedish 1A Ice Classification, and are designed and fully prepared for a DP2 notation, while the high ballast capacity serves to reduce the loading and discharge times thereby also increasing safety levels during the operations. The large decks of 125 x 42 m are completely flush and can be used over the full length and beam for loading, discharging and stowage. The deck strength is built up on a uniform grid of bulkheads and web frames.

The company is building four state-of-the-art MC Class Module Carriers. BigRoll Barentsz and BigRoll Bering are expected late 2015 and early 2016, while BigRoll Baffin and BigRoll Beaufort are due for delivery mid 2016 and early 2017 respectively.
